After a troubled development phase spanning over a decade, 2015 has been a cracker start for the LCA Navy, with two prototypes now in the air. A good time to take a close look at what is by all accounts a perplexing, but crucial fighter development programme, India’s first one dedicated to building a carrier-capable airplane. Starting tomorrow, I bring you a status check, and why Team LCA-N is more optimistic than it has ever been. Do join the conversation, share your views, tweet with #GoTejas.
@singam – Good focus for 2015. I would say the landing gear design and weight along with the finalization for the F414 GE engine delayed the program to a great extent.
The landing gear design and further testing being done for the 1st time is quite difficult task. Also, the airframe has to be reinforced to withstand the rigors of punishing carrier landings.
The navy has not named the LCA Tejas. is the twitter handle ok.

Naval Tejas is looking quite deadly ! Go ahead Tejas.
Bravo Zulu!! to the Indian Navy. In another 2 decades we should be having a complete Indian built Indian Navy. Lots to learn for the IAF which is buried in the quagmire of 'phoren' obsession.
making us proud! get it going and at constant and supersonic speeds.
