Just happened to see this video put out by MBDA of their newest Concept Vision series projects called the CVS302 HOPLITE unveiled recently at the Paris Air Show. MBDA calls it an “Indirect Precision Attack capability for land and naval artillery in 2035 and beyond”.
In a statement they sent out, they offered this description of the the system: The HOPLITE system consists of a mission control system, and two missile variants, HOPLITE-S and HOPLITE- L both of which can fly 70km in under two minutes at low altitude or up to 160km at high altitude in under four minutes when the way is clear. The system is able to quickly and safely traverse contested airspaces, and closely coordinate salvo firings to provide an exceptional fire support capability to the front line. HOPLITE’s one shot one kill precision simplifies operations while reducing collateral damage risk and mission cost.
Watch the video for the rest.
I don't see how this is innovative. Ground troops with laser designators that paint the target to be hit from the air is being done even today. Intercepting hostile missiles by a Iron Dome battery is reality today. This – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1NrFZddihQ in fact is truly innovative.
Is our Brahmos missile not capable of doing this, if our land, ship and air variant are connected with good radar.
every day technology improving, finding advance missiles and weapons, but finally usages for only one reason, just killing humans. The end is started.
who's going to teach our matric pass jawans how to operate an i-pad tied to their wrists….
I dont think there is anything new in this missile and it does not come evan close to brahmos and maybe prahar. The range is also short and usual must be costing a fortune like all the other french hardware, let France only decorate it in the L'armee.
Timbaktoo
I don't see what is so new in this system that it would take 20 years to develop. These things are happening now, ground forces do seek support from off shore platforms or platforms away from battle zone and it is precise.
whatever….
Where is the video link?
how is this relevant for india?…i thought this is a india specific site…cummon shiv….if u have nothing better to post…then don't post…
you said :

let us recruits DRDO scientist as our Jawans ..
and by the way the basic education qualification to be a Jawan is 12th standard if you do not know !!
btw the most innovative users of smartphones are the teenagers and poorly educated worker class people. Many of the whitecollar 'educated' people use the phone for two purposes, calling and to check email or facebook. Ofcourse it is a show piece and has to cost minimum 20K right?. So dont go by the educational standards when assessing people, innovation comes from brain not from text books or IITs. And the middle class is famous (or notorious?) for the Jugaad.
I like how the music and graphics are lifted straight from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
