I’ve been given the chance to be the first Indian journalist to fly in the Dassault Rafale (the one in the picture) at Aero India, where it makes its first public appearance in the country. As this post gets published, I should be in the air over Yelahanka with a Dassault test pilot in a French Air Force twin-seater Rafale that’s just done some time in Afghanistan. Will be doing a special report for Headlines Today on this, the least visible of the six contenders in the India’s $12-billion medium multi-role combat aircraft (MMRCA) competition. Stay tuned.
Happy Flying…!
Brilliant! Looking forward to reading all about it.
Beautiful bird. Hope it wins the mmrca for the air force. It can also be chosen by the navy bringing about uniformity in aircraft type. My only grouse being the non retracting refueling probe, just like on the mirage 2000. Give it a higher thrust engine and you've got a masterpiece.
Congratulations ! you're really lucky !
LUCKY B****D
