The Tejas (which uses advanced AI to make certain decisions) discovered it had a refuelling probe. So it dropped that heavy drop tank which reduces its agility. Simple!
BTW, you can also see the open door to the internal bay from which the Tejas dropped its tank. Goes to show that it was designed to be a stealth fighter from the beginning!

the last is NOT the C-17. looks like a Boeing-707 though, might be just transport for equipment.

no what you is is the Pitot tube. Refuelling probe is much bigger in diameter
