Great Pics Shiv,, well done
Why is smoking like a chimney..the enemy wont need a radar to find it ! and the ugly cylinder on top of the mast ..is that a radar ? ..why didnt IN go for the ELTA radar ?
Looks like a Narwhal 🙂
Cool..
Though, what is that big-ass ship in the background in the 2nd pic? Never seen a non-AC Naval ship that was that size…
The second picture gives you a feel of how big this beast really is.Goose Bumps…..!Jalebis…Mithais….!
The last pic….reminds me of a KASHIN class lighting up.The Japs actually sent fire fighting vessels from their coast guard when they saw INS RAJPUT approaching Tokyo with so much smoke.
The 4th PIC is not good is it going to throw so much smoke
Oh she is a beauty!!!! Worth the wait!
Hope the belching smoke is just her boilers being fired up for the first time.
Some of the best pics of Vikky out there. Well done Shiv Aroor! The ship is a looker. Good job by re-fitters. Flight deck is narrow but still useful and practical.
@iambob
it is a nuclear powered kirov class battlecruiser and their is a nuclear submarine present also.
smoking at her age is bad,very bad.
lovely to see this flat top
wow, thanks for the lovely pictures. Congratulations to the Indian and Russian crew.We eagerly await her arrival to Indian waters
When an aircraft is going to take off from this mammoth
SOMEBODY STOP! US! we r The Best (pokis r Screwed-Loosers!!) 😀 AWESOME SHIP,nice pics thnx Cheers! 🙂
the steam engine could have been replaced by LM2500 engines of General Electric like that of IAC-1.
Worth the wait i guess, well done guys
@iambob
As anon@1:54 pointed out, it is a Kirov class battle cruiser. To be particular, it is Admiral Nakhimov which is also undergoing refit there. Correct me if I am wrong Shiv.
This was something that I was waiting for a long time coming. Simply awesome! Can't wait till our carrier wing,the Mig-29 K's are landing and taking off this beauty.
God bless India!
@Anon (1:56 AM) and 'Sameer' – Thanks guys..
That is cleaning her chimneys …it is a common practice. Ask any navy guy 🙂
Very good pics shiv. Want to see that empty flat top with full of aircraft.
why cant IN induct russian missle cruisers for a change instead of more new stealth frigates 🙂 develop new stealth missle crusiers along with INS Vikramaditya !!
