I commend the Indian Navy for indigineous designing and manufacturing of warships . The project 28 corvettes were supposed to incorporate stealth features , but they look so less stealthy as compared to Visby class. Why ?
Mr. Raju cuts an impressive figure and with his background in EECS would make for a very savvy Raksha Mantri in the years to come. He is energetic and used to be keen a sportsman. If the administration works smartly it could develop him to succeed the current RM
India has a huge requirements backlog of Navy military ships like destroyers, frigates, corvettes, submarines, aircraft carriers etc. A production rate of 4 to 5 ships a year is woefully inadequate and makes us vulnerable. Our combined production rate should hover around 30 ships a year and a aircraft carrier/ nuclear submarine every other year. This pattern should be strictly adhered to for the upcoming two decades until India has the following metrics – A thousand ships of various denominations; 10 – 15 nuclear submarines inclusive of all types; 3 – 4 aircraft carriers; the capability to manufacture naval ships in quick order and wholly indigenously. We should develop all the modern war regimens in networking, data linking with satellites, in house.
It is a unique Indian characteristic to smile broadly when even the remotest success – if it can be termed as one is attained. The Indian Navy is still lagging and as yet strategically ineffective.
We are unaware of the weapons the corvette carries and the class of submarines it can track/destroy.
Front anchor placement is for stealth.I am not sure about the anchor on the starboard side, a secondary or backup anchor in case the primary is broken or is lost.
Indian Navy is in a roll…

Nice that all the workers also seemed to have joined the party!

Odd anchor placement!!!
Why is one of the two anchor hawsepipes at the bow while the other is on the starboard (right) side?
I heard it has diesel turbines….that means not quiet enough…need to change that in the future.
Hi Shiv ji,
Could you please update us on the progress of IAC. Reports say IAC will be launched some time in 2010 and will be 80% complete by then.
Thanks Shiv.
Best Rgds…Ravi

FAT is the new SEALTH
Nice ship. Can't wait to see it commissioned in IN. We need 12-16 of these.
