Sub Lieutenant Seema Rani Sharma and
Sub Lieutenant Ambica Hooda, the Indian Navy’s first female aviators, with their Dornier-228, and receiving their wings from Rear Adm Sudhir Pillai, Flag Officer Naval Aviation. Here’s to many more. Congratulations and Fairwinds!
Godspeed…
Observers ok, but when and where are combat pilots???
Kudos to Seema and Ambica… God bless… way to go girls!!!
they are not aviators but navigaotrs !!!!
The Navy promotes Observers as Commanding Officers of a Squadron, so these two would really have a shot at becoming Sqn COs!
In the Navy all who sit in the cockpit and fly to achieve a combat mission are called as Aviators. Navy had clarified this on a recent press release.
THIS IS NOT THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THESE GIRLS… AS OF NOW… ITS ONLY THE NAVY,S ACHIEVEMENT AS TO DECIDE UPON THE ENTRY OF WOMEN IN OBSERVER CADRE AT LEAST….. LETS SEE WHEN THE SHELL IS BROKEN.. AND WOMEN CAN ACTUALLY FLY THOSE BIRDS IN THE NAVY…
This girls are really a superwomen ..we should feel proud of them…
