Hi Shiv, is this ‘Rustom’ real ??? looks like a mockup. And, yes, lucky you, 9G or 10G, what does it matter………..you got to sortie in a F-16IN !!! Great !
Awesome pictures ! and it is a beautiful bird to fill my eyes. Couple of questions – if you can get the info 1. What is the Altitude, payload and endurance spec of RUSTOM and when is its induction? 2. Is it being proposed as a pure recon flight or also as a UCAV? 3. update on indigenous UCAV.
If anybody who have a little understanding should say Thank U LCA, ADA and DRDO. In 80s these three resisted all the scepticism that India doesn’t posses the capability for aviation industry. Today whatever we are seeing is only because of the confidence factor created in country because of hard work done by the project LCA team……
Hats off to LCA. To rest of the world you might be a 4 gen/4.5 gen fighter or anything but for India’s coming generation you are a gem on which we will feel pride forever.
shit!…is that the Rustom? I always believed that Rustom would be similar in shape to the Rutan Var Ezee…..last year the HAL’s internal magazine even had a pic of a Rustom which looked simmilar to the Rutan aircraft…..it was even displayed in the last Aero india IIRC.
shiv, thats not the UAV…its just a mock up…u can even see the LCA mockup’s gaand in the 2nd pic…btw, the Rustom infact looks very different..i assure you
The Rustom display appears to be a crude mockup. Notice the so called landing gear, lack of engine inlets and exhaust, crude body panels, etc. The vertical stabilizer/tail seems to be awfully large.
It will be interesting to see the spec board next to this machine.
This is a confusing development for those following the UAV scene in India. Rustom was previously described as a MALE UAV w/forward swept wings and canard control surfaces.
Looks like a mock up. Not the real thing definitely. The fit and finish are too crude to be anything but a mock up.

Great scoop! Got any info on specs? Timeline?
A predator with turboprop engine and a searcher data link antenna! great combination! lets see how it works out to be! painting scheme seems crude!

To Rahul Singh,
Dude do you work in DRDO.
This so called UAV is balanced on something that looks like a watercooler stand.
I wish I see this thing fly in my lifetime.
It looks like an Israeli Heron mockup..
May be the paint job guys got it wrong..
Interesting beast… propeller driven? Couldn’t someone just pop this one with a jujubee? I don’t see the point.
