On December 12, the National Flight Test Centre (NFTC) conducted the initial engine ground run (EGR) on the long awaited eighth limited series production (LSP-8) airframe of the LCA Tejas, according to HAL literature. The LSP-8 is the airframe that is to be handed over to the IAF for user trials. The LSP-8 is likely to make its first flight early 2013, delayed by over a year.
The LSP-7 flew first in March this year.
congratulations.to the team.
Please provide a photograph of LCA manufacturing line in HAL. HAL must prepare for commercial production of the aircraft. This aircraft must be a commercially successful product. HAL need to manufacture a good number so that it can export a few of this aircraft to friendly countries and earn some money.
The nation also wants to know how many ALH Dhruv/Rudra was manufactured during 2012 by HAL.
Is Tejas project still alive.
Ya even was thinking Where all these aircraft come from if there is no production line?? I think it's just matter of foc and HAL will start producing them at desired rate.. why does people keep saying that they failed to put up a production line!!
what is production line?? it's facility to produce in required no. I think HAL is doing that.. some people keep saying HAL forget to establish production line.
@Anonymous 6:16 PM: Is Pakistan still alive? oh well never mind..
"Less knowledge one has , more BS one makes up "
Minds standard operating procedure .
Congrats to DRDO. And a rap on the knuckles to HAL.
If HAL cannot get the Tejas into production soon, some private sector giant like TATA or L&T must be roped in to expedite the process. DRDO will easily (and gladly) hand-hold TATA or L&T to set up the line, provide ToT and guidance for Tejas units to roll out. FAASST.
The monopoly of HAL in aircraft mass-manufacture must End. NOOWW.
LSP-8 will be useful more for the development of the Tejas-Mk2.
After three decades of rigorous labour by the Tejas is ready. Just like the world did not get wind of our N tests, ur piggy noses wont get wind of our Nirbhays, ABMs,Tejas Mk3s. Please hurry up with your junk farter or we will not be able to have some fun.
they ill keep on making lsp's and will not able to deliever single air craft to airforce
The first flight will take another three months going by precedence
@Anonymous 9.36 PM: Pakistan died 65 years ago.
I dont know what is the use of this LCA going to be stationed in sulur airforce station where the enemy is 1500 miles away.
I Dont know how long it will be in LSP. when china is going to produce two 5th gen fighters still we are in LSP.
Dont waste tax payers money in the name of R&D.
Regards,
TAX PAYER
It revs up on ground is hilarious….. Ha Ha Ha.
what is the time line for lsp8 egr at dec 12 still no first flight did hal found any more probs and what happened to lsp 6 was it scrapped
Happy New Year to you all.
Happy New Year, Sir
I agree with "Tax Payer".
The IAF's hare-brained decision to base a spanking new Tejas squadron far away in Sulur defies all logic. Then which jets will face Pakistan and China ? Soviet-era MiG-21s ? Is this kind of security that our nation deserves ?
Pakistan has not hesitated to station their JF-17 squadrons in front-line bases, facing India. China has also lined up their new J-10 fighters along Tibet. Needless to say, they're meant for India.
So, when will IAF gain any sense ?
In fact, the first Tejas squadron should be based in frontline bases facing Pakistan and China.
The old MiG-21s instead must be shifted from front bases down to Sulur, to retire their remaining years in peace, before being sent to school playgrounds and museums.
Stop talking about exportig Tejas.
First of all produce enough for
India in large numbers then talk
about exports.
If the LCA is going to use imported engines, how in hell can we call this an Indian Fighter plane?? First solve all the issues with the Kaveri engine, if outside help(from technologically advanced nations is required, it must be sought) I think the HAL just made the airframe only as msost of the advanced systems in use are imported. Then I wonder what took the HAL soooo loooong to develop the LCA. The HAL & DRDO must be scrapped from defence projects(except the missile program, everything else is a huge waste of taxpayer's money. The DRDO & HAL have failed to deliver, with their substandard products)Private companies like TATA, L&T & Mahindra should be approached for completing the projects.
