  1. M982 is the most capable right now. But don't you need laser designators on UAVs or ground recce teams to use them? Not to mention a robust and secure network for data communication.

  2. Ah Snap! I forgot it's got GPS navigation and an IMU. By bad. All the more reason to buy it. Unprecedented accuracy and hit probability is a force multiplier by itself. And the corps of artillery is so depleted they need multiplication many times over.

  3. If the RFP is for "in service" ammo then the picture is incorrect, as recently sensor fused 'fuses' have been launched which are 1/10th the cost of excaliber to improve the accuracy of existing ammo

  4. Is it true that Oman is buying INSAS weapons?Have the defects that soldiers complained about i.e. jamming and oil leaks, been rectified?Apparently the Rifles have been on trial in Oman which tells me they would have discovered any defects. So the question then is – were there real defects or another excuse by the army headhonchos to get imported materials?

  5. Shiv,Do we have a doctrine of having strategic supersonic bombers like tu-160 blackjack,b-1 lancer,F-111.Has the IAF ever felt the need of maintaining fleets of such airplanes.

  6. DRDO ? Are they researching inventing and or developing something which has edges over the rest existing on this earth.
Will we see the time when Indian companies will come up with such solutions for our Armed forces 🙁

  7. now these days indian armed forces purchasing everything what ever the thing is

but we dumbs always think in the other way

    big ambitions and utter implications
