Took this picture of an Army jawan guarding a helicopter landing ground at a Army division headquarters in Rangiya, Eastern India in 2006.
Livefist wishes the Indian Army a happy and safe Army Day 2013. Special greetings to all the many officers and jawans I met and spent time with on the Line of Control last week in Poonch, Jammu & Kashmir.
Salute to Indian Army

I have noticed this in various pictures. Are the soldiers required to hold the weapon in a certain manner. It hurts my eyes to see the position of the wrist on the trigger hand. keeping that wrist position for more than a few seconds would be ergonomically incorrect and probably painful too. Seeing too many pictures makes me think this may be a requirement and not a choice. And if so, that should change. No need to put these brave men and women at higher risk of pain/injury than necessary.
A Common Man wishes you and your families well and thank you for putting our nation first. Happy Birthday Army and God bless you all.
Cheers,
Bharath
In the light of the current and previous misdeed by the Pakistanis, does India need to spend so much money on the arm forces when they are not used to defend it's people?
