those are chaff launchers meant to decoy radar guided missiles … but they are not enough..IN should have at least got AK630s installed and got barak later.
to anon @9.26 do you remember khyber, shahjahan, muhafiz, ghanzi??…:P
Was surprised to see the loading of the Surface to surface rockets is still manual process. Indian Navy should now concentrate to automate the process when it arrives here. This not only makes the control of the firing error proof but also improved Health and Safety of personel especially when weapons/armaments are involved. Lessons should be learnt form recent Submarine mishap in Mumbai.
PNS Ghazi met with an accident while maneuvering through shallow waters. She was not sunk by any indian ship, they did'n't even know she was there. It was indeed a feat to travel from Karachi all the way to Bay of Bengal. Pakistan has more expertise in submarine warfare than india.
Anon 9:38 AM How did you know it met with an accident or a mine? Or a depth charge? FYI: ASW hunters in the area were throwing periodic depth charges. Yes PN has more experience sinking its own submarine. What a shame! It also has more experience in not able to defend its own main port – Karachi.
Anon 9:38 AM. There is no comparison between IN and PN dude. In 1971, IN attacked and destroyed Karachi port, TWICE. Forcing pakistani navy to not leave harbor for rest of the war. Indian aircraft career group bombed the heck out of Dhaka and Chittagong- remaining unchallenged. I don't know what jehadi education in history pakistani kids receive nowadays but if you ask anyone from that era, 1971 was a complete, unquestioned humiliation for Pakistan, its people and armed forces. 92000 cowards laid down their arms without offering a fight! Go read this over and over again because it is the truth. And don't come back with some silly response like 'well we sunk your frigate Khukri'. Yes you did. only highlight of your otherwise pathetic war fighting skill.
Trials people, not a live fire drill. Things would move much faster in the latter. The Vik's being put through the paces and not being ridden hard as it is brought upto operational readiness

Easy target for PN submarines…do you remember Kukri.
They are manually feeding the missiles… shame this ship is sitting duck.
