On the lines of the MMRCA series here on LiveFist, coming up, a series on the IAF’s attack helicopter competition. The official list of contenders: the Bell AH-1 Super Cobra the Boeing AH-64D Apache Longbow from the US, the Anglo-Italian AgustaWestland AW129 Mangusta; the French Eurocopter Tiger and the Russian Kamov Ka-50 Black Shark and Mil Mi-28 Havoc. Stay tuned.
I pray to GOD atleast this tender should not be scraped .
Our Army / IAF needs massive Heli gunships with longer ranger anti-tank missiles to have edge with chinese tanks.
we have ALH Tech , HAL need to change with high attitude engine + Longer range Anti-tank weapon for massive production . Govt should not allow defense units to become DEAD END SLOW Units .
Hope the IAF's attack copters' RFP, babudom's political shenanigans and the kick-back syndrome and cry-foul sour grapes lobbyists do not scuttle these. I won't be surprised if these also goes the Bofors way. Indians with vested interests are there to do what the enemies can't.
shiv could you get us any updates on the LCH ?
What happened to the LCA Tejas Update???
Thanks a lot for these updates Shiv! U r doing a great job!! 🙂
Shiv, we're still waiting for your indepth articles on the LCA..really, the LCA and LCH will be of much greater interest to people than reading about the Apache, Tiger, etc. of which there is a lot of info already available.
Kartik: It's still work in progress. The LCA update will be up as soon as it's ready. It will be a comprehensive one, I assure you! No timeframe, unfortunately.
