  1. Too bad India alredy is going to induct 4 Landing ships like the the Jalashwa this plane has no role on it post some thing for Choppers the sea variants. Lets say have a contest will be enjoying.

  2. Go Gripen Saab!

The Gripen is less than half the price of a Typhoon (T), and 5/8th the price of a Rafale (R); Two Gripen are more formidable than one T or R; so, from a performance perspective, the Gripen is the best there is.

  3. Navy Mig 29K, Navy Tejas, Navy Rafale and now Navy Gripen, fortunately so many offers are arriving. Ab asmaan jeet lenge, Navywale mere gaon ke… Lol…

  4. Bah. If the Indian Navy had any sense it'd shoo away all these CGIs for prospective naval versions of MMRCA rejects and instead go straight for the F-35.

You already have TWO fourth-generation naval fighters(MiG-29K and naval LCA) so why look for a third? If you HAVE to have a third fighter type at least go for a fifth-gen stealth option. Like the F-35 or a future naval AMCA/PAK-FA.

  5. I have a friend that served in the military and she told me about a website that offers special discounts for military families. What I found surprising was that it not only offers discounts through national companies, they had local restaurants and merchants that offered great deals, some were owned by vets. They also had news, some hilarious jokes, information for people interested in joining the military and so much more! Has anyone else seen this sight and have you gone to some of the businesses listed. Please let me know. The website is: mymilitarypages.com

  6. Looking forward to reading that! I hope Saab folks gave an indication of how much the development of this paper plane may cost the Indian Navy, which would be the single-ever customer for such a plane – and what would be the benefit of a Sea Gripen compared to Navy LCA. I'm really impressed that marketing people.

  7. why the eagle carries trisul , as a mark of indian verion. we already have mig29k for naval, for IAC 2 india should go for 5th gen aircraft like F-35c

  8. Purely from a marketing perspective , this will be a very limited market which is already dominated by the giants and established Naval aircraft manufacturers. COnclusion : this will never see the daylight and will of course never see active service even if a prototype is built

  9. anybody proposing the cause of f 35 should read analysis on air power australia before doing so. It is a highly exagerated platform and any 4+ aircraft with AESA will be apt match to the JSF.

  10. You and Vishnu Som are the biggest Grippen homers on earth. Do either of you get paid by SAAB? Seriously, both of you should consider getting a job there if you aren't working there already.

  11. Ray Doohan,

Are you serious? I'm no America lover but I wound't bash something just for the sake of bashing it.

The F-35's sensor suite is unmatched by any fighter in the world including Raptor. It uses THIRD GENERATION AESA technology. When everyone else is trumpeting 'AESA!' as an achievement the F-35 can do things like jam other planes' radars with microwave attacks from its own radar.

On top of that it has infra-red sensors powerful enough to detect missile launches from thousands of kilometers off and 360-degree visibility with these. Combined with its stealth features(which, contrary to the hype, are likely to be superior to the larger PAK-FA) its currently the best plane the Indian Navy could possibly get.
