Saw a grab of this slide on Steve Trimble’s site, and so asked Boeing to send me a copy of the original presentation by Shelley Lavender, veep for Global Strike Systems. It depicts Boeing’s vision for the Super Hornet platform from 2015 forward.
HAL MCA is also a paper plane. Why all these pointlessly snide and two-faced comments? The Super Hornet is a great fighter which I'd rate above any variety of the LCA. One shouldn't neglect realism out of patriotism.
@Gautam, MCA/LCA is not an MMRCA candidate but this plane is. So it is necessary that this variant should be ready at Testing & Evaluation phase of mmrca which has recently been concluded. Even Gripen had to bring in their prototype Gripen Demo version and we did not make do with C/D versions.
We wanted the latest, most advanced tech and so they brought forward their best, stuff that isn't yet operational in their own Air Forces. These planes are as 'unproven' as the Su-30MKI which was specially developed for the IAF from the Russian Su-27.
Of course they could display older versions of the aircraft that are currently in use(like MiG-29SMT and F/A-18E) but in order to win the tender they have to show off their best, not pulling any punches.
Old wine in a new bottle!
As long as this plane isn't sold outside EUM it doesn't make sense.
No EUM
Make EPE engines in license-production in India
Open source radar
Then we will talk. This is a tactical weapon and not a strategic weapon to require sovereignity surrendering agreements.
LOOKS GOOD BUT SOMETHING I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE

ALSO I AM NOT A BIG FAN OF AIRCARFTS THAT ARE SANCTION PRONE
It's a paper-plane and exists only on the powerpoint slide as of now(testing phase of mmrca)
May not be competitive in future.
