While the aircraft has been tested with a dummy radar payload. There have been no reports of an actually working radar that has been tested and accepted. If it were true we would have many self congratulatory reports about how India was third or fourth country in the world to have such devices. But even before we get there, DRDO talks about a major system. There was talk about a follow on order for IAI Phalcon system but that seems to have died somewhere.
why no tejas, dhruv or LCH..???
when this aircraft will have radar?
DRDO has integrated three Embraer aircraft with its own radar, two for IAF and one for itself. Those meant for IAF are due for delivery mid-2014.
DRDO is also working on developing much bigger AWACS with rotodomes on either Boeing 767 or Airbus A 330.

Radars and all systems are already integrated with the first two AEWCs. The first aircraft is expected to join the IAF next month.
