Under pressure from the Pentagon, Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has been forced to back out of a joint partnership with a Swedish aerospace company to compete in a multi-billion dollar tender to sell new multi-role fighter jets to the Indian Air Force …
Read the rest of this shocking Jerusalem Post report here. Don’t say you didn’t know the dirt would fly.
The Israeli Defense Ministry ordered IAI to back out of the deal after the Pentagon expressed concern that American technology, used by Israel, would be integrated into the Gripen offered to the Indians.
“The stated concern was that western technology in Israeli hands would make its way to the Indians,” The Jerusalem Post quoted an Israeli official, as saying.

Its prove USA do want want India to get the highly advance technology.
or it means US wants to sell their high tech and not Israeli one!!
And some 'patriotic Indians' want to buy US planes! Imagine if they put this sort of pressure on their 'favourite' country so that they do not export radar to India, how US will treat India after we have paid billions and have to keep the aircraft airworthy.
If we can't get Gripen NG MKI, just get the MIG-35-MKI.
"Its prove USA do want want India to get the highly advance technology."
???? ????? ??? ??? ??? At least learn to preview your comment before sumbitting this nonsense.
What kind of partnership Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) had with SAAB on Gripen?
Gripen…The independent choice
now gripen f 16 and F18 are out.
No tot
So MiG 35 and Euro fighter and one more aircraft whose name i cannot seem to remember…
Mig wins…Eeeeee ha

There are no Israeli components in the Gripen IN offered to India (ie German made secure coms, Swedish/British radar unit, Swedish EW suite).
According to my contacts the partnership between Saab and IAI was for tapping into IAI:s existing footprint on the Indian market, in particular Air force integration.
This story will probably be more damaging to the US than for any of the other players.

First of get the entire news and then write your “Bakwas”.
The United States has forced an Israeli company to back out of the multi-billion dollar tender to sell new multi-role fighter jets to the Indian Air Force.
Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has been pressurized by the Pentagon to back out of a joint partnership with a Swedish aerospace company, Saab Gripen.
Saab, manufacturer of the Gripen, asked the IAI to jointly develop an advanced model, which would compete for the deal.

This is a huge blow for the Swedes. They must not have been confident in their AESA that they were developing or the ECM on the Gripen. IAI would probably have offered the EL-2052 and some ECM.
The Mig-35 is the worst out of the 6 competitors why would you want it? The main reason everyone comes up with is sanctions, but the Rafale and EF are basically sanction proof. France has never placed sanctions on India and India would be part of the EF consortium and would not face sanctions.
The only way India would probably face sanctions were if they conducted a Nuke test which they aren't going to do anytime soon.
This is something that is directly linked to the Elta 2052 radar being offered by the Gripen team as an option to India. Gripen has been aware of this pressure for quite sometime and this could have been one of the reasons why they went ahead with the quick development of the Selex Vixen swashplate radar. It seems the American companies are worried about Gripen's chances. They should be … chances are the Gripen is the most suitable platform for the Indian Air Force's requirements.
As far as AESA radars are concerned, USA is number 1. After that, Israel, Japan and some European countries have the technology to manufacture competetive products.
But Japan does not have the market or permission from US to enter that market. Leaves Israel, and European joint effort. And US just bitchslapped Israel into its place. Push comes to shove, EU will submit to unkil as well. They already gave US kill code for Galileo.
This is why it is important for us to have domestic manufacturing base. China is at least 15 years ahead of us. Sigh.

You think USA is no.1 because they have operationally using their AESA Radars like APG-80, APG-79, and APG-81 in different combat aircrafts.
Remember one thing USA did not allowed Israel to integrate the Israeli Radar EL-2052 in the Israeli purchase F-16s. When Israeli Radar starts operating in aircrafts like Tejas MK-2, it will be no.1. After that there will be continuous improvements in the Israeli AESA radar technology.
Israeli Phalcon Radar is the no.1 AWACS in the world.
Hello Mr. Aroor. In my view, it may be heartening news that Gripen's contention is now restricted, as it could have been a 'threat' to the Tejas' induction in the IAF (the IAF has a known bias for imported hardware than indigenous ones). With this news, the American jets too will be in the "backburner" as the IAF may be apprehensive about their intentions to deny technology to India.
The MiG-35 can also be rejected on the grounds that dimensionally, it is nearly an equal to the Su-30 MKI (Russian jets are usually very big). The Rafale and Typhoon would be redundant or "superflous" additions to the IAF because it is well known that their range-payload specs already match those of the Su-30 MKI in the 'fighter' configuration.
In my view, the IAF must seriously give a thought to Tejas Mk.2 which will carry the same number of weapons as the Gripen – NG and will have the same combat range as the Gripen.
Thank you.

how you came to know this
who cares for american aesa radars,
our country will have equally good radar from france, eads, israel etc or like irbis e radar on mki just need patience
and patience is always better than hurrying

Israel itself gets all its tech from USA anyway. Either they spy and steal, or are allowed to do by US.
