First of all, Snecma has a higher thrust version of the M88 already in development, but the French Gov stopped the funding, because they don't have the money and don't think they need more thrust. That's why they offered UAE, who said they need more thrust in hot climates, the co-fund the new M88-3 with 90kN. Secondly, the EF and the F18SH needs highter thrust, because they are way heavier! Rafale weighs only 9t, whereas the EF is 2t, the F18SH nearly 5t heavier. So even with M88-2 engine and 75kN thrust, the t/w ratio of Rafale is only slightly inferior to EF, but better than the F18SH.
Can you confirm 81kN afterburner thrust of the Kaveri engine, because in the latest reports about it, talks only about 65kN.

Well it's a great job to develop such a high technology engine in our country I m feeling proud.Now we have a reasonable chance of R&D to upgrade this engine…
One more failure of the fraudy DRDO. They are the babus of science, do nothing but get full salary. Cann't make or best reverse engineer an engine. Why are they still being employed on tax payers hard earned money.
Hi Shiv any update on the development of Kaveri engine is DRDO working on qualitative requirement of Kaveri engine as requested by Indian Navy or is it the same old story? Is it feasible to develop kaveri engine or buy engines from abroad
