Prasun is a well known liar and copy paste person. Do not believe what he says. He has been busted so many times. Shiv is much much more credible and always reliable.
I dont care if prasun is a so called copy and paste. Truth has to b told, As it is- hence just copy and paste! I am no fan of prasun- but at least i am not scared and ashamed of my identity- anon 1.26. The truth abt the radar wud b out soon, maybe shiv wud report it. Taking names, especially fr somebody who prefers to remain anon.. Is probably bcause of low self esteem.
Are yaar [email protected], why are you bursting Parsun's arse for no good reason? Instead why don't you ask Shiv Aroor to post in full the press release put out by MoD's DPR or the IAF's CPRO? In that press release it is clearly stated that "The event was attended by large number of Air Force officers from Air Headquarters, Headquarters South Western Air Command, including the representatives of original equipment manufacturer ELTA Systems Ltd, from Israel." Normally Shiv will post the entire press release along with the photos, but this time for reasons unknown to me he didn't do it and instead gave an erroneous headline for his story. Now, is that Parsun's fault? Or is it Prasun's fault?
Come on guys, Does it matter if it is desi or va-desi as long as it does the job. DRDO always like the beat their chest years before anything that is opreational, so thats why i don't think this is DRDO work. We would have heard it at least 15 years ago.
Correct. This is an Israeli radar as Prasun points out, and as is mentioned in the press release. Not an Indian-built one as my post said. My mistake.
@Prasun: Contrary to your understanding, this blog doesn't publish press releases as default (so those "reasons unknown" are actually just the norm here on Livefist).
Here's the IAF's press release in full:
ARUDHRA MEDIUM POWER RADAR (MPR) INDUCTED IN THE IAF
New Delhi : 03 Jun 2011
Air Chief Marshal PV Naik, Chief of the Air Staff today inducted the first Medium Power Radar (MPR), named Arudhra by the IAF at Air Force Station Naliya in Gujrat.
At Naliya, an airbase which plays a pivotal role in the air defence of Saurashtra Kutch Region, the induction of this state of the art radar forms a part of radar upgradation and towards integration of all sensors into an Air Defence network.
This event at the culmination of Commanders’ Conference of South Western Air Command (SWAC) saw Air Marshal A K Gogoi accompanying the Air Chief. Officers from Air HQ and South Western Air Command (SWAC) as well as representatives of ELTA Systems Ltd, Israel, the Original Equipment Manufacturer of the radar were also present on the occasion.
I might be the mighty pessimist here but all i see is a bunch of potbellied service men posing with a radar which was made by a foreign country. If this is progress and calls for congratulations….well we need to re-think.
To Akash@9PM: What exactly is your problem? Having problems digesting the truth? Both Shiv Aroor and this 'Prashun' fella stated that the Arudhra is an Israel-built radar simply because the Indian Air Force itself has said so in a press release (posted above by Shiv). So why are you still confused? It is not the whole world which is saying that the Arudhra is an indigenous radar, but only an erroneous and misleading news report originating from the IANS news agency which claimed that the Arudhra is indigenous. Does that now clear all your doubts? If not, then kindly approach at your own peril ACM P V 'Poncho' Naik to tell you the gospel truth.
This is a radar developed by ELTA Isreal in collaboration with DRDO. Many of our defence systems are JVs with foreign countries, with key systems being fully indeginised for obvious reasons.
Its a static but transportable radar , got rusted before installation. So u can better understand how it would work? ? ? And those potbellies old people hv just mug up the features of radar that wont work at all. I dun noe y india cant able to make its own radar .even then we r saying we r developing.
Congrats DRDO and IAF.
thank god u cleared the air…that parsun created hell of problem by saying these are Israle made….
Any details on this radar?
cant believe that DRDO build this radar, looks very similar to Elta system radar….

Physical fitness seems to be quite low in IAF. Almost all of them are in poor shape. It seems they have never been to a gym for ages.
Shiv is it a 4D radar.. can you please reply it.. there is not sufficient information on your blog or any one else
Wow good job drdo
Is that AESA fixed or is it mounted on some truck?

Drdo rocks!!!!!!!!!
Guys, Shiv is saying Indian Built but what he is not saying is the technology could be Israeli.
At the moment there seems to be no disconnect between what shiv and prasun are saying.
Prasun is a well known liar and copy paste person. Do not believe what he says. He has been busted so many times. Shiv is much much more credible and always reliable.
The radar is completely different than EL/M-2084.
How many Arudhra Radar are on Order ???
