India’s 40th Navy Day

It’s India’s 40th Navy Day today, the anniversary of the Indian Navy’s bombing of Karachi harbour from missile boats during the 1971 operations. My best wishes to the great service, and the fabulous work they do. The picture above is of me (just ahead of Navy Day last year) roping it between two SNFs INS Ranvir and INS Rana (latter in picture) after shooting from INS Jalashwa. This year, I shot an amphibious operation on the Andaman Islands. Shano Varuna to all.

Oh by the way, I’m off to Rajasthan tomorrow to cover a bit of Exercise Sudarshan Shakti. Look out for photos and vids in the evening. Have a good week, all.

  2. SO sad to see that Mariners r using such an old technique for deporting form One Warship to other in this Hi-Tech century…
Atleast they try some Stretch able and Portable Bridge to connect between 2 ships …

  3. amazing attack on Karachi ..just amazing ..the Navy needs to stop colliding ships and get down to plan one of those attacks again.
