The Indian Air Force will formally induct its first three C-17 Globemaster III heavy transports at the Hindon air force base tomorrow morning. The new squadron has been numbered and named 81 Squadron ‘Skylords‘. The squadron number is likely to have been chosen to mark the IAF’s 81st year.
According to a colleague on the defence beat, the new squadron’s motto runs: Saksham, Balam, Sarvatram. That’s Sanskrit for ‘Capable, Powerful, Omnipresent’.
Congratulations, godspeed and happy landings to the IAF, the Skylords and all those involved with C-17 operations!
When are landing at DBO ?
Who the hell came up with such a lame name "Skylords"? What the hell is wrong with them?
This air ship is vulnerable to enemy fire and will be targeted in any combat operations.
That is why escorts are always sent with these heavy aircrafts
